ARRIVAL AND ACCOMODATION

Getting to Hamburg

Hamburg’s international airport is located about 15 km from the city center. Public transportation from the airport is both affordable and convenient, taking you into the city center in roughly 30 minutes.

Taxis are readily available at the airport. A ride to the city center or the symposium venue typically costs between 40 and 50 Euros.

Hamburg’s main train station is located close to the city center. Direct connections are available from most major Germany cities. Long-distance trains (ICE) are safe, convenient and reasonably priced.

Most of Hamburg’s attractions are walking distance, making it safe and enjoyable to explore the city on foot. The city also has an efficient public transport system.
To find out more about your public transport options, visit HVV.de. An English version of the website is available. Simply click the menu and scroll down to “EN English”.

It may also be useful to download the HVV app, which is available in both German and English. The app simplifies the process of ordering and paying for tickets.

If you are planning to drive, parking garages are available close to the venue. Please note that parking can be expensive.
